Tim's reading a girlie book!

Yes, Tim read Twilight. Two weeks ago he said he'd go to the movie with me when it came out, so I told him he should read the book first. My dad and both my brothers have read it, I told him. Come on. You can do it... To his credit, he only said, "I think I'm going to throw up," one time.

...And then his cold, marble lips pressed very softly against mine.
What neither of us was prepared for was my response.
Blood boiled under my skin, burned in my lips. My breath came in a wild gasp...

Even with all that crazy teenage girl stuff, last night he VOLUNTARILY sat down and picked up the second book, New Moon. "I have to see if it gets better." Uh huh. Well, we're hopefully going to see the movie on Wednesday- so Yahoo! Good job, Tim! I think he's really just stashing all these bonus points to save up for all the sports he likes to watch. Then he can say, "You don't want to watch this Jazz game? But remember how good Twilight and New Moon were..."

Tim peeked over and saw me writing about him. "Are you blogging about me reading to get me in more trouble with husbands???" Wa ha ha...

Good Triumphs Over Evil!

GO UTES!!!
Oh, Yeah, Baby! I think the BYU quarterback was secretly helping the Utes- Come on, FIVE interceptions??? A Fumble??? He should get the Utah MVP!!! Thanks Max!
Check out how close the Utah football team is with
coach Kyle Whittingham:
You just can't get much closer than that. Woh.

"Y" Don't You Just Go Home

Today's the day... A parting picture for the Y fans.
I don't know who these people are, but they are inspiring. Truly.

Turning The Other Cheek

Following an intensive hunt for the misdirected BYU patriots, we had our culprits. On Sunday, Tim & I took a special little treat to the Young Women in our ward. Yes, the YOUNG WOMEN AND THEIR LEADERS were to blame!! Talk about misdirected... :)

So to show them how a Christian should handle personal attacks, I made a bunch of "U" shaped cookies and decorated them in red and white, with "Go Utes," etc. on them. We gave them to the YW in their class with the following letter:

It's hard to read here, so this is the letter:

"November 15, 2008

Dear Pleasant Valley Young Women:

At this time of year close to Thanksgiving, I am reminded of all of the things that I am thankful for. I am thankful for an undefeated season. I am also thankful for the opportunity to coach at such a wonderful institution. I am especially grateful for the fans. Lively fans who support the Utes. That is why at this time, even though I am busy coaching and preparing for games, I like to take the opportunity to write to my fans and thank them for their loyalty. Please enjoy these cookies as a token of my appreciation.

Sincerely,

Kyle WhittinghamUniversity of Utah Head Football Coach"

It was pretty funny! We all got a good laugh out of it. There was one girl who wouldn't eat my offering. Bad brainwashed BYU....

To The Rotten BYU Fans...

I am a victim of a hate crime. Yes, a hate crime. Me!
Last night Tim & I were watching The Hulk, minding our own business, when we heard someone start pounding on our door. It was almost 10 o'clock at night, so we were a little concerned. We opened the door and found this taped to our
garage and front window:

Tim is visibly outraged at the flagrant violation of our U of U pride. Note that Tim is wearing red even in his lounging clothes. He knows that blue is just not quite right...
This is Tim yelling "BBBRRRAAADDDDYYYY!!!" -the top suspect in tonights vandalism- though we are investigating all leads. (We suspect Brady because Tim may or may not have been involved in an incident involving red and white window paint on Brady's car last football season...)

Along with the repulsive signs on our house, they left strings of toilet paper all over our trees. They even violated my scarecrow.

Toilet papered?? When was the last time someone toilet papered my house? When was the last time Tim asked me to a high school dance? :)

Well, to all you BYU sympathizers, I SAY:

GO UTES!!

Now, to those who really know me, you may be thinking, "Celeste is talking sports? Does she even like football?" I've decided that I like my sports like I like my politics. Give me the final few minutes and the action packed highlights- but don't expect me to watch the rest of the boring stuff. I did check out a few headlines recently. I liked this one the best:

It was reported that BYU head football coach Bronco Mendenhall will only be dressing twenty players for the Utah game. The rest of the players will have to get dressed by themselves.

And this class picture is a classic:
BYU is going to get smacked! To those few Blue Fans who feel the need to defend your team- BRING IT ON! They're going to need all the defense they can get...
However, don't waste my time with any BYU/Utah coed jokes. Like I said- give me the real highlights worth talking about, if there are any from BYU...

*Disclaimer- I know that this is not an actual picture of the U of U vs. BYU- but it was the closest one...

Yes, Ma'am!

The other day I was browsing the toy section in Shopko with my three kids- which we do everytime we are in a store that has toys... and I saw an old acquaintance from junior high school. He was in the "Stoner" crowd- with long dark hair, etc. and I was more in the spastic crowd. I think he had a thing for me then, and he called me a few times just to chit chat.
Interesting.

That was 1991.

So here it is 2008 and I do a double take because he's looking at me with the "I know you..." expression. I say Hi, and he says,

"How you doin', Girrl?"

How you doin', Girrrl??? Wow, it's been a Long time since anyone called me Girl like that- with the little inflection at the end. Blaugh!!! I'm shopping with my Three Children! To top it off, he still had long dark hair- but a bald spot in back and an advanced receding hair line. Not hot. I don't care about the thinning hair (love you Tim!)- but don't hang onto the long locks. It had the makings of a great comb-over...

It used to bug me when people helping me at stores would call me Ma'am. I decided I must be getting really old- because I'd much rather be called Ma'am than Girrl!

Pretty In Pink *a post to make up for the last one...

Lily is the cutest little Pink Sparkly Princess you've ever seen!
As I got her all dressed up yesterday for the carnival, and did her
hair and makeup, she said to me, "I'm super cute, huh Mom!"
Yes, Super Cute!!!

A Scary Family Outing...

Sometimes I can't believe that we do the things we do.
For example:
Our ward Halloween Carnival last night. Truly Scary!
Yes, we went out in public like this-
and now I'm sharing on the web.
I have no shame...
I was so excited to wear my new shirt that I made especially for tonight! I was a Nerd/Stalker. Note the skill level and expertise of my Photoshop abilities. I didn't tell Tim about my shirt, I just showed him when we were at the carnival. Oh Yeah, Baby!

I got myself a winner! If you want even scarier detail- feel free to click on an image to see a larger picture. Woh.

Megan's Birthday Party- Take Two

On Saturday we celebrated Megan's birthday with Tim's side of the family- along with cousin Jackson's birthday and aunt Amy's, And Happy Halloween, too! It was a lot of fun! The cousins wore their costumes & got to pick their own pumpkin from Grandma & Grandpa's pumpkin patch in the backyard.

Princess Lily with "The Dorothy's" Brinley & Madi,
and Alec the Nerd in the back.

Alec carved his own pumpkin this year. He was having a little bit Too much fun with it, though! He is such a silly boy- he makes me laugh!

Alec couldn't decide what to dress up as, until we found my grandma's old wig, and my mom's old glasses. NERD!!! He was so excited to dress up!
I had to include this picture of Ryan- It is Awesome! I took some pictures of him doing flips on the tramp- and they turned out so cool! I'll include more in the slide show. Nice job, Ryan!

Megan still hasn't caught on to the whole wrapping paper idea yet. She liked the presents, though!

Cake, she's definitely caught on to! Yummy Yummy Yummy!
Bring on the Frosting!

Laundry Crisis Averted

Yesterday I opened my clothes dryer to find a very clean laundry DISASTER!! Apparently two little crayons were dirty and needed to go through the wash. Blue & Green. Hmmm, who likes blue and green..... What a MESS!! I was very upset- but yet surprised that it hadn't happened to me before. Once a blue jellybean went through the wash- that was not a good idea, but didn't do too much damage. I've washed lipstick and chapstick. Also not a good idea. I haven't had a laundry mess this bad since I was very young (about 13 years old or so) and somehow put a purple tie dyed shirt in with a load of whites. Are garments supposed to be purple, Mom? Whoopsie.
I had to scrub the inside of my entire dryer because it looked like it had been colored on all over- round and round. I thought that most of the items were lost because they looked so bad- especially a couple of Alec's shirts, and his two hoodies. But I decided to rewash the load in hot water, add some color safe bleach, scrubbed the worst spots, and a miracle happened!! Almost all the spots came out! I'd like to think it was my laundry savvy know how, but I'm sure it was mostly just luck. So, if any of you find yourself in a similar unfavorable predicament, now you know. But my advice is: Take the crayons out of pockets BEFORE you wash pants.
