Big First Grader...

Alec started first grade this week. How did this come so soon? He was very excited, but I just see my little boy growing up way too fast. He really is such a sweet boy that loves his family. Two little sisters couldn't ask for a better big brother to watch out for them.
After we dropped Alec off at school, Lily, Megan & I went to story time at the kids museum. Lily was in heaven!! Alec never wanted to go, because that's what we did when he was "little" and we were past that now. So now that it's just us girls, we're all set! Megan thought it was pretty amazing, too, and turned on the Turbo Crawl to go
get into everything.
Today we played at the park after we dropped off Alec. It was lots of fun, but as we were leaving Lily looked at the school and said so sadly, "I miss Alec so, so much."
It's hard to be left behind, but it makes the time when we're all together
that much better!

The Little Voices In My Head...

Somedays it seems that the little voices in my head just keep going, and going, and going... Tim reassured me that it was okay though, because he hears them, too.
Here's a little sliver of what I mean:

Alec: Pretend I'm your father.
Porter (Alec's friend): Pretend that you died and now I'm your father.
Lily: Pretend I'm a butterfly baby flying by.
Alec: They're coming to get us.
Porter: Pretend that I'm your son.
Lily: I'm a butterfly baby flying by again...
(Add Megan babbling and crawling up my pant legs throughout)

I just had to laugh at Lily's attempt to play with Alec & Porter. What was even better was that Alec & Porter didn't really seem to think it was strange to have a butterfly baby flying over them in the midst of their battle.

Happy Anniversary!

From the journal of Celeste...

On Friday, May 9, 1997 Tim & I looked at a ring and decided that it was the one. I was hoping it would be ready quickly for us to take, but the jeweler said that it wouldn’t be ready until the next week or so. I was anxious for it to be done, but I was willing to wait a little bit. What I didn’t know was that Tim had called the jeweler an hour before we went over and told him to tell me that the ring wouldn’t be ready for a while so it would be a surprise to me!
The next day, Saturday, Tim asked me if I wanted to go to Salt Lake City with him for a concert and dinner, and I happily accepted. However, when we reached Farmington on the way down, Tim suddenly pulled off the road and told me that he decided that we weren’t going to go to Salt Lake anymore, and then he put a blindfold on me and laughed and we drove on.
We drove for a while, and then came to a stop. Tim left me in the car, and went to set something up. While I sat in the car with a blindfold on in the middle of somewhere, a man with his daughters in a truck stopped to see if everything was okay, and Tim cam racing back saying all was well, and we laughed. Finally, Tim took me on a little walk, me still blindfolded, and then stopped and took off the blindfold. We were up high on a mountain that overlooked the valley. Tim had set up a beautiful candlelight dinner with fettuccine, sparkling cider, and Spanish music playing in the background. We ate, and then even danced in the weeds. Then evening began to settle. The city lights came on, and Tim took me around a big tree and some bushes until we could see the Bountiful Temple that had been hidden from view. It was a gorgeous sight, all lit up before us.
Tim stood behind me and began talking about how we had started out dating, and dating others, and him going on a mission. Somehow we always ended back up together, and we always had the most fun when we were together. Then Tim turned me around and much to my surprise, pulled out a little white box from his pocket and got down on his knee. He asked me to marry him, and opened the box. The box had a spotlight that shown down on the ring! I gave Tim a big hug, and Tim asked, “Does this mean Yes?” I just said, “Yes, Yes, Yes!”

Happy Anniversary, Tim! 11 happy years I've been your wife. I can't think of any other place I'd rather be than by your side.

So Much Going On...

Okay, so summer is busy..... and I had to take a break to read Breaking Dawn! That was fun, but I have to admit, kindof really weird... so back to reality. We've had a lot of really great things happen the last couple of weeks, so I wanted to catch up.
My sister, Stephanie and her husband Nick, with their lovely three little children were sealed for time & all eternity in the Manti LDS Temple. It was so wonderful to be there to share that with them. I have such testimony that the promise of being together through the eternities is real, and possible. I am so blessed to have such a loving and supportive family!
Happy Birthday, Dad!!! My dad is officially really old (Love ya, Dad!), but he has never acted his age (refer to above picture)! I think that is what I love the most about him. He just makes me laugh! So, check out these cake decorating skills!!! I decided to make a "GrandpaZilla" cake, and include cupcake representations of the kids and grandkids. Oh ya, I'm rockin'... and completely a nerd, I know!!!

We just got back from Flaming Gorge. I love that place! Just the scent of the vanilla pine brings back all the memories of coming here for so many years. Tim's family has gone to Flaming Gorge almost every year for the last 16 years or so. The water is FREEZING, but sooo smooth and perfect to ski on... Ahhh...heaven. I first went to the Gorge with them the summer before Tim went on his mission. It is where I learned to ski on one ski, and boy am I glad I started at that young age, because there would be no way that I would be skiing now if I hadn't already gotten in all the killer crashes when my body was younger!

Now, I have to put in more TUBE WAR pictures!!!

I love the action shots! Here's a few of my favorites:
Doesn't that make you want to come out with us?? Tim's dad was driving the boat, and I think he was having a mean streak that day and was taking it out on the tubers.... WaHaHa!!!
