Missing In Action

So.  I guess it's been a while since I attended to my blogging duties.  Hmm.  Where has this five months gone?  It's gone crazy, that's where!!  I've decided that fall for photographers is the busiest time of the year.  Yay!  Love it, but it's busy.  Then Lily's birthday, then Christmas, Then Alec's birthday, then kitchen remodel.

Then "Kitchen Remodel" snowballs into "redo kitchen, tile floor & hallway, paint entire upstairs (almost), remove old florescent light, add can lights, make coat closet bigger, sell old dining table & china cabinet, buy new dining table, get new carpet, switch Lily into Megan's bedroom & move bunkbeds."

I think it may have been easier to just move into a new house!

I'm so excited!  I feel like I have a whole new house.  Whew.  I don't want to do anymore projects... for at least a month.  Ha!  It seems like there's always something.

Anyway, I'll try to catch up sometime.  Hopefully!

Over and out.

So Long Outdoor Plumbing, Thanks to Super Tim!

Isn't this a vision??
The toilet on the deck adds a certain thrill to a mundane task...

Tim & I didn't learn our lesson from our last bathroom remodel. We somehow decided to do it all over again for our main bathroom.

So long to the 1970 Harvest Gold speckled tile (that only went up about 1 foot. There is no shower...)
So long to the shallow tub that is only fit for small children.

So long linoleum & yellow paint.
(Yes, that was my fault anyway.)

Alec likes demolition a little too much.
Give the boy a hammer & turn him loose!

Tim's dad was kind enough to come help with the heavy duty part. THANK YOU!! That tub was a handful!
One week later,
Say Hello to 2009! I feel like my whole house has been lifted from the lingering 70's!

We found marble tile on closeout at Lowe's and saved a ton of money. I was so excited! We were only a little short, though..... so a little hour drive to another Lowe's saved the day. Thank heavens!

Tim made new doors for the old vanity, and I spray painted it with a metallic brown. It turned out great! We also got a granite countertop from a granite remnant place. Woo Woo!

Hello Shower & Soaker Tub. Love it!
(This picture shows the actual color better.)
Tim, you are an amazing remodeler.
Thank you for all you do!
(Of course, you have an amazing assistant, too....)

Labor DAY is for wimps...

So Tim & I decided it was really time to say so long to our 1970 Harvest Gold tile shower and redo our master bathroom. We knew it had a lot of water damage when we moved in almost 6 YEARS AGO, but decided to do the cheap and easy fix of re-caulking and puting down linoleum. So, we started demolition on Labor Day Weekend, -yes I am just blogging this now because we have just finished it this week! Nearly a month of laboring later- we are looking GREAT! One neighbor asked, "How big IS your bathroom?" Alec thought this was a great project!
Give the boy some tools just like Dad, and we're good!

Alec did a lot of work! Now, if he would just clean up his room...

Tim the Tool Man- showing us his skills.

You need to see the dramatic results for yourself:

Though the toilet was kindof fun to have out in the garage, (we got some funny comments about that) I'm so glad to have my own bathroom back!!! Now, Tim, about that other bathroom...
